Maximizing the social reach of your content: Five easy steps
This is the age of traveling content and social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are at the peak of their powers. The way search engines work have also changed recently with Google declaring war on content farms and Facebook partnering with Bing. To make your content famous, there are two things that you need to know. First, the content must be of good quality and second, the content should travel well. Here are my few bits to maximize the reach of your content.
- The content should be of good quality –

There are 2 ways for doing this. Either create content that people will be able to use or create content that will entertain them. It can be hard to create good quality content but it will certainly pay rich dividends. The content should be an ambassador of the brand. For instance, in a natural foods cereal company, it was seen that topics related to health were outperforming the articles that were related to the product or brand message.
- The message should be well organized -
Organizations should not be restricted to silos as it can get in the way of spreading the content around well. For instance, there can be a bunch of old-school editors who do not want to work with social media team because they are in the marketing department. There should be a small reorganization which would put social team in editorial. Social should integrated and not separated. - You should be operating like a publisher –
Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter can turn brands in to publishers. You should publish regularly and also provide useful or entertaining content for increasing chances of staying on top of the mind of your desired audiences. The blog should be updated regularly and should contain shareable posts. Presentation too is important. Present the content in a format in such a way that it should appeal to the eyes. Long boring paragraphs will put your audiences to sleep. - Your content should be portable –
Make sure there is a ‘Bookmark & Share’ widget for your content so that people can share it easily. There are tools of social sharing which give you one click option for sending all the content in a social network and you never know who you’d meet. You should meet the targeted audience where they are, instead of forcing them to meet you. - Your content should be findable –
When you are investing in content, you should make sure that it travels far. It should be optimized for the road. You can put videos and games in standard sizes or ratios so that they are pretty easy to embed. The recipes or reviews should contain microformat data so that they can be found easily by the search crawlers. It is also recommended to create a mobile version of the sites. An RDF or Resource Description Framework should be used for tagging the content and for using standard based, good codes. There are other tools like Embedly which will maximize sharablility.
SEO copywriters and things they need to know
For some reason that lies beyond my grasp, I feel compelled to talk to SEO copywriters about the things that they have to look at if they are to make a success out of a career as SEO copywriters. There is always on-page optimization, sure, but there is so much that precedes it even before you get to that. And most SEO copywriters don’t know about it, which in itself is a bit of a travesty. Think of these as style elements of SEO copywriting that you must incorporate in order to be the best you can be.
The title

No matter whether you’re optimizing from the outset or later on, you need to know your keywords and use these in your title. The closer it is to the start of the title, the better the use of the keywords. But you have to make sure it is somewhere in your title at the very least. Take the title of this post. I used “SEO copywriters” as the keyword, but could have made it more compelling by saying “Things that most SEO copywriters don’t know”. Note the change in positioning. It can make all the difference in your page rank. Keep it under 65 characters for maximum visibility in the search engine.
Meta description
A good meta description will ensure you get a click-through. Some say this influences your page rank, some don’t. But you will want to use the keyword in this as well and keep it short. It is in a way a reassurance to the visitor that this post or website offers what they are looking for. Keep it under 170 characters for maximum visibility in the search engine.
Quality content

Use keywords liberally, but don’t overdo it. Quality content always wins you repeat readers and so you should update your content regularly while keeping quality in mind. Of course, a somewhat larger post will rank better than a smaller one, so use at least 300 words for your post. You can also bold keywords for added emphasis. And so we are left with…
Frequency of keywords

As the name suggests, this refers to how often you use a given keyword. Keyword density is a measure of the ratio between the presence of keywords to words on the page. Obviously, the frequency of keywords affects your page ranking too but the keyword density in itself does not. But you do still need to pay attention to density as such. Don’t overdo it though; anything more than 5.5% and Google will down-rank you. Don’t be mindless with your repetition, use keywords frequently, but sensibly and as liberally as possible.
Linking
Google looks at how many popular sites link back to you and this affects your ranking tremendously. The search algorithm Google uses wants to know that you’re connected. If you’re not, you won’t rank as well as you can, it’s as simple as that.
There is more to SEO copywriting than just these 5 elements, but if you stick to these 5 elements, you’ll be absolutely fine.
Most popular internet marketing mistakes

Online business runs completely on the marketing strategy that runs exclusively on the web. There are cases when even a slightest mistake in the online business can draw away the traffic from the site. I have listed up some common yet mostly undiscovered internet marketing mistake that online business owners often commit.
Many online business houses succumb to their urge of making their website too beautiful than the rest. And while doing so they end up making their website so heavy that it takes two minutes time to load.

Internet marketing is supposed to make life move quickly and the slow loading of graphics or lousy speed of your server can make the website really abominable and traffic will move away easily.
It is mistake to suppose that all the users are having the latest version of any program. For example some users may not have Macromedia Flash even today. And if you use the program in your website it will surely be a draw back for your online business as some of the pats of website will remain blocked.
Many online business keep their website same day after day and they go fallow. If you have a website where you have the scope of offering marketing content then try to stay updated with current information. Don’t keep on promoting an offer that has expired two months back. For this reason keep a constant update of your website and don’t get into the habit that brick-and-mortar business do; make website and forget.
Viral marketing is mostly heard by inline businessmen and used less. Using social media for the viral marketing purpose is a good idea and sufficient amount of time should be devoted for the viral marketing of the content rather than promoting it through emails.
Don’t neglect these issues while designing human resource functions

An organization can have a good intent to make many and can lay down a good design for its business. But no matter how nicely a business model, a company faces the trouble to manage its business when it plans for its human resource functions. There are wide array of issues that needs to be managed when it comes to human resource planning. A company is forced to face the most unpredicted issues like lack of talent, country’s overall economic growth, how the present generation prefers to get along, uncertain competencies, how performance can be measured and which is the best work relationship for the organization. Until a company has planned for the human resource things stay within their control and terms. But the inception of human resource function planning opens the door to the common mass or rather to people who are not the owner of the business. This acts as a twist in the story.

The economic growth of a country has a key role to play in its part to define the success of a business. Many economists and financial experts believe that the changeover of the non-renewable energy to its renewable counter part marks the inception of new business. However, many other state that the use of crude oil even today and the price advantage it offers will not allow the renewable energy business or clear energy business to stand for decades from now. It is vital for an emerging business t monitor the scientific inventions, economic developments, and the market adoption from close proximity to decide how and when the transitions will realize and can give a business opportunity.
The shortages of the talent cannot be an issue for a country in case the theory of globalization prevails. In that case they can hire professionals from any part of the world. However, too much of a nationalistic views can harm this global hiring of employees. This will insist a company to see the present education system of the private and public institutions. The education will define the competencies that will be available for a business for employment. There are several occasions when a local mismatch occurs between the company needs and the skills the local people harbor. In that case remote outsourcing might be a good option and even in this case a company needs to judge the cost of outsourcing as opposed to the training of the local employees.
There are various other factors that play an important part in determining the success of a business while defining the human resource functions. And a little wrong prediction can lead to a business fiasco.
