It's an interesting concept, this quality content thing. I tend to think the majority of us feel we write quality content, which means that, for the most part, people are trying to do the right thing with their writing.

What I consider as quality content is when someone can offer something totally new, even if it's on a topic that others know something about. I've ranted a few times that some people will write posts that we all know is information they got from another blog, and might have tried to put it in their own words, or so they think.

Your post was nice and original; this was quality writing, which I like. Of course, the image is freaking me out. lol

comments really are a big giveaway as to how your writing is going. Sure nobody is going to get comments at the start but once you do you will start to see patterns emerge like you describe here. Short one liners = agreeing with you or people leaving them for links back to their own blog. The real skill (and I am still very much trying to master it myself) is to write something that gives a little balance to both sides of the argument and leaves some unanswered questions so as people can fight it out and take sides in the comments. Really not a very easy thing to do but once you do get it right it is a very beautiful thing to sit back and watch :)

Ofcourse the first self study question should be: does my blog receive comments? ;)

Chris - I definitely agree with what you have written here. All to often I find bloggers rehashing other people's content, putting it in different words and posting it on their own blog. I must admit it frustrates me because they are not using their own original ideas!

People like to read new and interesting content and as a blogger, it is our responsibility to produce this good, high quality content.

Keep writing the good content Chris, you're doing a great job.

Brandon

I want to add some. In order to write quality content we should determine who is our reader. In my case, my writing is more to teen style, relax, cool and funky style because I know my readers are more young persons. Young people don't like to read a formal style post.

Anyway, good post above. Thanks for the thought

Nice post. Now reading first few paras of this post, I though it will be of no use (read repeated content/topic) but towards the end you have shared some useful stuffs. Now you can call this a quality.

Is quality no more there in blogging? Well quality is there but since we blogger read and write a lot, many posts on internet feel the same. We must have read similar articles more than twice. Now as we have read similar articles many a times, we may feel there is no quality but for a newbie reader that article may be of immense use.

As you said "it depends on the people’s perception"

Yes I totally agree with you ! For successful running of blog quality content is very important.Just copying the whole content from other blogs is nothing but waste of time.
