The world is a vast resource filled with different individuals like us who belong to one fraternity and that is doing business, any thing that changes hands with money is business, whether you are working for someone or having your own enterprise, its Business after all in the end. In the olden times, there was not much need of internet marketing and people were living with varied means like barter exchange, doing small time businesses, selling across the streets, etc. today whether you are holding a good share in any industry or you are a small time business person, you have to be ahead of the race if you want to survive and that comes through effective internet marketing goals.
In life many people strive to achieve their goals but why only a few succeed, the answer behind this might still be mysterious but one thing I am sure of this that successful set targets and they work hard to achieve their set goals. If you don’t have any targets, what are you going to strive for? And what is going to make you awaken whole nights and days? Its targets that gets you going all the while, while other are still sleeping! There have been lots of discourses, lectures, and books available on marketing relating to setting of goals as an organization, etc. but one thing that people fail to understand is to execute them in a correct way.
It doesn’t matter if you are doing marketing on a smaller scale, but make a point to do it with targets, marketing is an art, and you just can’t simply go to the market and start selling products. I have seen people moving out on streets handling pamphlets for events, many people take them but I wonder whether even 60% do take any interest in those papers now this is a good example of doing marketing without targets! If you don’t have any targets what’s the use of spending money on even pamphlets. In marketing, everything should be planned well in advance, counting on competitors, people’s choices and market situation.
In my experiences with professionals in the marketing field, I have realized one thing that targeted internet marketing helps to boost good number of sales even when it reaches far lesser people than mass marketing tactics. The targeted marketing has shown higher conversion rate and a good return on investments. When you know a particular class of people is interested in your products, you can start with your marketing campaigns in such areas where it would be fruitful. Marketing campaigns have to be planned keeping in mind the targeted area, you should think of the ways you can reach your targeted audience through statistical data as well as through your research done.

We know that people like to get entertained and especially when it’s with regard to their product likings, today, the world has shrunk to the extent that we often keep on meeting the same people or come across similar type of products or ads in markets across the globe. What do we do to come out of the competition? Or make your products sell in the markets? The best is to follow the strict small business marketing rules of Educating your people and at the same time Entertaining them, people like to hear or see what is pleasing to their ears or rather something that would increase their knowledge about something, today creativity has grown to superb levels of innovation, the ads that I come across sometimes are just fabulous that I don’t have any words to describe them. They use such marketing concepts that people get glued to their TV sets, until the commercial gets over, whether you are doing telephonic marketing, distributing pamphlets or television marketing, it has lots to do with the way you present it and the concept behind what is shown.
Entertaining someone is not much a big deal, when it’s with regard to some product, you have to come up with innovative ways that will ensure that it goes right inside the people’s brain, so next time they are out purchasing they will remember your pleasant entertaining advertisement in the television they show last night. The concept of Educating people through marketing campaigns is new and still catching up with multinationals across the globe and are I am very sure it is going to be an instant hit with people. Today, people are hungry for knowledge; the more they get, the more hunger they become, the cycle is endless so you have to keep on making new food items on daily basis.
You can run a research check in community circles about the people’s likes and dislikes and then later you can decide on what characters you want in your advertisements. Is it the cartoons they like showcasing the products, or role models, or ramp models? It’s up to people who will decide the success of your ad campaigns. If you think, creating an entertaining ad is difficult think again, if you have resource, talent and right knowledge, go ahead, you are going to be successful; there are no 2 sides to this. While you create entertaining ads take note that the entertaining factor doesn’t overpower the actual promotion of the product you want to market, it’s not the amount of money you invest in making ads, it’s the concept that people should instantly catch up with.
Go through newspapers, magazines, international papers, etc. to get a brief idea about what’s hot in the field of advertising, apply it to your campaigns but make it unique and clear. Looking for work but don’t want to look Desperate

As the world is getting more globalize, it has created more jobs for the people especially for the ones with specific qualifications, if you are in any particular field, say IT, then there would be sub categories in that field and professionals are trained to specialize in those sub-categories, such is the market demand for professionals, we see people are being sent to different nations for training or job purposes or called over by companies for temporary purpose, etc. As today’s market are more demanding, the rules have become more stricter but at the same time there have been lots of manipulation happening all over, you never really know if the company exists at all, who is calling you abroad to join in their workforce. Recently I came across a thread over Internet where there was a special topic on how to ask for referrals to your new clients, it is true, whomever you do business with, you never really know the reputation unless you have heard of them before, there have been many such instances, where people feel a bit hesitant especially dealing with their new clients, what if they are offended is a big question?

People are often stuck in a similar types of situations where they really don’t know where to stop, what to ask for, and when to say? Given below are some of the points that might help you overcome your stigma, perhaps learning from your weaknesses will help you out to stand out from the crowd, don’t get desperate when you are looking for a job, or asking for any client’s information should be the norm.
- Choose the best time – as you understand the importance of time you will know how to get things by speaking at the perfect time. You have to have in your mind the things you want to get done to sell your products. There was this one very interesting incident which happened recently at one of the dinner parties I had been, there was one lady guest here who was designing beaded necklace and before any one knew it she was out displaying her designs and went on her sales pitch to sell her neck pieces. She obviously had some good collections personally designed by her but this was not the right time when everybody had come to meet each other, she dint sell anything that night then. In similar cases, if you feel that you strongly need to sell then most you could do is to ask for their business card and contact them later.
- Be proactive always when you are dealing with your clients that will help you in longer run. Don’t just dig into your client to set up a new client network instead you can suggest your friend about the requirements in office if you come across one. Or you can drop a congratulatory note for your client’s wife who has just delivered. If you hit upon an interesting articles you can forward it to your friends and let them know about the new network. Try to build up the goodwill with them and later ask for favors you want to get done.
- Don’t settle or compromise for less, I know you have longing so long for work but that doesn’t mean you have to do everything and anything, resist the urge to say your would be employee that you can do anything for them. For supporting yourself for a while the least you could do is to start freelancing that will help you financially till the time you get some good job. If you are a true professional you will get the job you have been looking for, many people out of desperation start doing jobs they actually don’t want to do when they are having much more qualifications. You don’t need to beg for the job that you want, talk to your employee what specifically you are looking for, join social networks where you will meet people and they might help you join the company needing you.
- When you are talking to the company officials don’t get bogged down by too much requests like “can I have a little time of yours” or “I hope it isn’t too much I am asking for”, etc. no one is bound by any obligations to help you, its up to the people whether they really want to help you in what you want to achieve. Don’t make your clients or friends feel awkward to tell you NO for the request, it can be possible that they are really busy or cant take out time for you.
- Don’t forget to show gratitude towards what someone has done for you, don’t forget to thank them. Your clients will appreciate you for giving them a creative thank you there are many ways through which you can thank your clients. You can send them a cake during their birthdays, or sent out a holiday tour voucher, or shopping vouchers, you can also show them gratitude by returning their favors this way you can maintain good steady relationships with your clients and also the business partners.

Remember the jobs that of freelancers, one had link all these freelancers to procrastinators but do you have a valid reason as to terming them in this manner, may be due to a lack of a more better name they forcibly had to use this stupid name. Mr. Jim Koch is a founder of the Boston Beer company, after inventing his company once he was talking to one of his wealthy relative who happened to be one of his investors in the company, Koch was continuously discussing about the computer system which would keep a proper track record of the sales in the company, one interesting episode happened here, the relative asked him whether he does have any sales to boost for? Now here was a big question of one’s reputation if some investor is asking about the progress of the company.
Well what answer would Jim would have given to this interesting question, well as the said fact, he said no, not yet, to this the Investor was quite astonished and so he urged Jim to go out and sell because he would obviously expect returns on his investment. So Jim went all out donning his business unit to a bar and prepared for conversation with employee there but as the fate would have it, the employee dint understand the English language and seeing this confusion there the boss came over so Jim started having a word with him and went gaga over his sales and offered a beer sample to the boss, he liked it and ordered some cases and that was when the Boston Beer started and brewer of Samuel Adams went on its success path.
To a few of us, when we start with our own business unit we might not have a wealthy relative advising us to go for sales and recoup with the investment, the fact is we might not have anyone nagging us to go and make sales. As sometimes it so happens you can feel the pain of someone but you cannot do anything about it as you don’t have any deadlines set nor you have anyone nagging over you. There are lots of things you need to keep in mind while selling, your one small mistake can create lots of other problems in marketing your main target is your customers and the motive is selling by hook or by crook. Be creative is very important from a company’s point of view as yours is just not the only product being sold in the market, there are your competitors who might be selling the similar products at lesser prices and portraying them to be the best. Now what we were discussing earlier about Jim Koch, if you too have to sell beer out in the market after a little bit of efforts you will again need a beer, I will get to that point later.
When you are out in the market for selling, you would not always get a good deal you may have to hear a “No”, which probably may dampen your spirits, but when you are in a global list of sellers such things are going to come your way. Like I earlier said, you can feel the pain but no one can do anything about you, and sometimes you yourself cannot do any thing about it. There have been lots of experiences in my life which I would term as natural ones, I have many times got a “No” for a sale and in between I sometimes got some “Yes” too. Today businesses have got much more exposure than it got a decade back and markets has shown positive signs towards its growth.
You can well imagine how it feels when thousands of people turn you down; one stage comes in life where you are totally careless about the outcome and you are fearless like never before because already you have gone through the bad phases and now you are bold enough to face anything in life and you might have few occasions in life which you would have thought would never happen in your life like meeting CEOs of some multinationals and there can be a possibility to strike a great good deal. Now this is from a long term point of view, for now you will have to start talking to people on various modes like phones, emails, conferences, personal selling, etc.
Now such efforts are not working out, then you can start putting your ads in google or some famous resource where you will get noticed. You can start putting your profiles on various networking sites which will let your business get noticed, go out and meet out people and get your products selling in market through clients, business colleagues or prospects. Be a speaker always and see how frequently you start making sales, so start taking actions today and build a huge business you always desired. Yeah, and sometimes don’t forget to take yourself out for a beer party and do reward yourself for your achievements, don’t procrastinate, do it now this is the only time to work, start it today.
