The First 2013 Google Panda update is here

Google and other such search websites are very focused on quality websites because it is the quality of the website that is reflected back on the search engines. If there is someone who is getting a website through Google, and he purchases either a service or a producer with a credit card and then finds that the credit card got compromised after using it on this site. Then the person could stop using Google for ever and could hold Google responsible for having got the card scammed in this manner.

This and many such things are possible and so with all this in mind, it is better to give the website a proper supervision and get your SEO to check out if the website is in proper condition. Google has given a quality checklist, which could make sure that the website treats all the users authentically.

Google has thus announced a new Panda update, which makes it the version 24 in the list of updates. The previous update had affected around 1.3% of the English queries and this was on December 221, 2012. Earlier to this, there was another update, which had affected 0.8% of the queries. It is as if Google is now doling out updates every month.

In the year 2013, Google was very quiet as regards changes in the algorithms. But Google is not going to slow down in the process of improving the algorithms and would try to make the search results better.

Google search was in the news in the early part of the year with the Federal Trade Commission settling accounts with the company with just around two voluntary concessions made by Google with respect to search. Google now has to deal with Europe in the area of antitrust front. Google anyway is not going to stop changing its algorithms and would always try for better results.

Google Panda update

There were important changes in the Google algorithm, which had lot of effects in the sites across the web. Many lost search visibly and also web traffic and revenue.

The 2011 Google Panda update is still being refreshed this year. There was lot of content stuff that was crowding the net and the better stuff was getting neglected and was almost invisible. Panda was made to stop this and also to try to establish some kind of guidelines.

The Google Panda update was very controversial, and there were many sites that really felt affected in an unfair manner. Google however managed to send a loud message So it is required that content should not be of poor quality as it would not get any kind of search results. It is very important that the content is trustworthy, useful and that the users would be really benefited with well written content. Google’s search results have lot of issues and Panda has made a big difference in improving the quality of content in Google.

With the latest Google Panda Update in 2013, we will be able to see an algorithm of a different kind that would be a change that would affect a host of webmasters. It is to be seen whether there would be a new update that would require webmasters to work hard on a monthly basis. Google has had its algorithms changed at least 500 times. The big ones normally come in the first quarter of the year.

Google Panda Update in 2013

The Google Panda Update is a filter that was brought in the year 2011, which was mainly meant to stop all the sitters with low quality content from working their way into the top of the search engines. Panda is updated regularly and when this happens, the sites, which have been hit earlier, could be saved. Panda might catch sites that it did not catch earlier. A refresh of Google Panda Update means that false positives could get released.

So search engine optimization would be a matter of great concern. The reason is that the content would be first crawled and then indexed in the SERPs before it is presented to the real human readers. The latest Panda update has thus been successful in punishing the malpractittioners and defeating their efforts. So the latest Google Panda update requires that webmasters must be followed and the sites should have quality content.

Google SEO tips for newbies

People have been asking me for some Google SEO tips and hence I was thinking about writing this article for a long time. I sat down; jotted all the vital points and have finally completed it. On-page SEO is now really important after Google Panda update. Old SEO techniques that were used years ago might not be useful now. In fact, they might be harmful for your blogs. Here I am jotting down my two bits –

Domain age – Google prefers Websites that are relatively older and hence I would recommend you to buy older domains for your new projects. Or if you are buying a new one, keep it for at least five years.

Upgrade the blog at regular intervals – It is important that your blog is updated regularly. Google likes sites which are up-to-date. I make sure that all my online properties are updated at least once a week and my blog posts are regularly updated too.

Google SEO tips

Write for visitors – It is recommended that you publish articles which provide information not for Google but to the visitors. I am not saying that you should ignore the concept of keyword density but your visitors should enjoy reading the article. A high keyword density doesn’t guarantee you a higher ran. Also, you should use LSI keywords.

Press release submission – This is another great way to get powerful backlinks and traffic. But your press releases should be powerful. A press release that is written well will attract a lot of publishers and this will give you a lot of links in turn.

Flash – Flash might look very attractive to you but it is useless from Google’s point of view because Flash can’t be read by Google.

Meta tags – Using meta tags can be effective in SEO. They aren’t so important now but I still use them anyways.
Heading tab – Use heading tags like H1, H2, and H3; they are useful provided you use it in the right way. Heading tags should follow up each other and I don’t use 2 H1 tags. Also, you should put the targeted keyword in heading tags.

Setting sitemaps – Sitemaps are important. For my WordPress blogs, I don’t just set up simple sitemap but also video and image sitemap.  All these sitemaps are then submitted to main search engines. This is really important and shouldn’t be ignored.

Mark out the keywords – Highlight your keyword by making it bold, underlined, and italicized in all your posts.

External links – The external links should be built for almost all the pages of your site and not just for the home page. This will show Google that the post has useful stuff to offer.

Distribution of articles –
submitting articles to the article directories are effective but aren’t as powerful as they used to be some time ago. These days, I first publish my articles and then submit them to many article directories. This can be done by some kinda article submitter software too.

Images –
You should use images as illustrate your article and it is also good from the SEO point of view. The image should contain a title and description along with the keyword.
