Looking at the sorry stage of relationship between Google and China, I doubt we can think of Google as a monopoly. The joke is that when China buys Google, China wins!

Thanks for the article. Yes Google is a an advertising monopoly and yes they do exploit that monopoly.

The discussion regarding google’s monopoly has been mostly countered as follows:
“If you don’t like Google use another search engine.”

This short sighted response fails to understand the real issue, which is that the revenue comes from the advertisers who have no choice but to use them even if they are being overcharged from click fraud and other exploitation.

Furthermore, Google’s advertising monopoly is worst possible monopoly because if you decide not to use them, you give 80% of the market.
