Blogging has become real huge now and I have seen many companies publishing their ads through blogs rather than printing postures, may be that this way its more economical and can reach wider audience too at the same time. But what really attracts a person to the blog, is it a title or the body of the article or simply through a suggestion. Most of the times it happens and even few of us might have experienced that we read articles based on their titles, if the title sounds interesting than it can lure your readers into reading further. Some of you, who are new to blogs, might not even know that your titles or the keywords are the prime most important things that will direct a position of your site in search engines. If you have attractive title with widely used keywords in it then surely it is going to push your site at the top most pages of the search engines but for that you need to come up or rather know the key words which your audience would be searching over the net.

So before you head out to write your blogs, the first and foremost is to decide upon an attractive title for your blogs. You must have quite noticed when you search something over internet there is more probability of you finding the pages with exactly the same words that you typed in search engines the reason being, the site members have researched well as to what their audience would search, identifying such keywords is not difficult and with the help of Google adwords keyword tool you can find all the keywords which are searched the most.

You can only build your brand over your blogging

networks once you gain your readers support and that will gradually happen as they start liking your topics and the content you have written. Make use of google tools and research the words that the users are most likely to type in search engines, if you belong to a particular niche say writing only about management then search for words which people would search. Remember, while you put in the keywords, think of the words that you as a reader would be keying in to search for the topics that would give you an idea.

The search volume for the keywords will help you find the volume of the key words which are searched on Internet on a monthly basis, if you have few lots of words then go for the once which are rated highest in the adwords tool. Keep in mind that even a single word in your title here and there would cause a lot of changes in your rankings, in my research I have found that the titles which starts from “how to”, “how is”, etc. are the most searched upon compared to normal sentences and its but obvious when people would search to find the procedure for something they are going to type “how to”. So research well for the titles you are going to put in and get good search engine rankings.

You need to put up a nice Title. No one can beat that. First do research what your readers like then make a nice title accordingly.

I agree with Compute Live…First, you have to decide what keywords you want to target..You have to prepare a good title once you decided keywords. It will help to target your audience. Long tail keywords are also helpful to give you good traffics but it should be searchable.

I just searched something in Google and found Chris’s blog…that’s a real example. :) what you say Chris?

I use adword keyword to find which title to use for my article. I don’t like traffic that came to my blog by mistake due to a miuse of keyword. Nice article anyway.

Well, Chris…As per my thinking, title forever takes a major roll for search engine ranking. I am not sure for all Search engines But I can say at least for Google, Yahoo and Bing. Thanks for sharing a good post with us.

Title is important element but don’t you think Chris that content (body) is also very important part. Both are very important parts. Unique content will sure get good traffics.

I would like to say something on Benjamin’s comment, Actually Google don’t find traffics for that exact key phrase. Let me do an example, You can see lots of traffics on “Resume” key phrase But actually it collect traffics of their sub-keywords also like “resume samples”, “resume tips” etc. That’s what I am thinking…

Chris, Thank you for nice Posts. I have few questions. Can you give me answer on it? I am very new reader of your blog but like to read your all articles and have lots of questions in my mind.

    A. How you find keywords (long tail or short tail) keywords?
    B. What you think before you write post?
    C. Are you professional content writer?
    D. Do you write content for others?

Sorry if I say any wrong questions. I will be waiting for your answers.

When I blog I always leave the title until last. Mainly it’s due to the fact that when I start writing I’d have one thing in mind, but by the time I finish the post may have evolved into something slightly different.

How you format your title is extremly important as you say. There are number of words that have become totally overused and should be avoided in titles. Words like quite, fairly, sometimes, often and may are dull.

Don’t write “Fairly Recent Research May Indicate…”
    Write “New Study Shows…”

Don’t write “Some Reasons Why List Posts Usually Work”
Write “7 Reasons Why List Posts Always Work”

You want to attract users to your blog so remember not to scare them off with boring titles.

    Nice post Chris!

There are many ways to create a good title, one good way is being controversial or mysterious. Another important point is (laugh all you want, but this works) is using numbers. People love numbers- titles such as “10 ways to…” have been shown to be more effective.
