Eliminating Self-Doubt and Hesitation of Blogging
Doubting your own capabilities and hesitating to write an effective content is a problem faced by numerous bloggers these days, which has led many careers to end.
Many bloggers, trust me on this, have given up blogging because they don’t trust their capabilities. Yep, it’s definitely good to quit if you don’t think you are capable of handling a task, but throwing off the towel much before the game start wouldn’t help.
I must admit, and am not bragging, I faced similar problem during initial years of my blogging career, but I have now overcome it. And it is not difficult. Here is what you can do to eliminate this hesitation.

Face it – There are no shortcuts
We start doubting our capabilities when we don’t receive desired results. You cannot attract many readers on the day you launch your blog unless you are a celebrity. Understand, it takes time; at least 8-12 months to get results. By results I mean attracting traffic, making money, receiving comments, etc. Every job demands hard work. You don’t get a promotion on the first day of your new job, do you?
Act Before You Doubt Yourself
People start doubting their abilities and hesitate to blog because they aren’t able to attract any readers. This happens probably because they do not take appropriate action. I would like to share a very short story with you. Recently, I met a guy who asked me about affiliate marketing. Out of everyone I have interacted in my blogging career, I must confess, this guy pissed my off terribly. I explained him hundred times that it’s impossible to earn money unless you work on it, but he refused to understand and opposed my views constantly. At last, I gave up explaining him, and few days later, he gave up affiliating marketing.
The logic is simple. If you want results, take action. If you think you are weak at something, learn about it. Doubting yourself wouldn’t help. It would kill your morale. Spare some time to work on your blog and give it some time to grow. Short cut, in any case, is just a myth.
There was a guy who provided free content to his readers for approximately 11 years. He worked hard and watched his readers list grow. Later, he launched a paid website and as expected, thousands of readers followed him. People say he succeeded immediately. What about the 11 years of unpaid hard work he had put? What if he too would have doubted hi abilities and quit?
The secret is to keep going and never give up.
Writing A Blog Post For The First Time? READ ON!
If you ask me whether I can write something creatively, my answer had probably be a big YES, but writing is not anyone’s cup of tea, you might be good at English and have Knowledge of things but unless you have the power of writing something passionately you cannot be called as a Writer. Today, with increasing popularity of blogs and blogging business there is suddenly increase in demand for young writers, make a point I wrote young writers coz’ its them who can write about the current situations or modern perspective relating to something. Of course, in some fields experience does count, so older people are needed to write their experiences or whatever research they might have done.
Blogging is purely a business and in business its just exchange of services, it’s a give and take relationship. There are people who are in this business for 5 years now and making huge money while there are yet some who have just started off. The profits might not be pouring in now but I am sure 2 years down the line, you would be at top positions if you follow some specific rules on writing a blog posts for your networks. Even if you are not a gifted writer, you can create that passion in you, you can start writing slowly about your thoughts and then unfolding your creativity in to your writings. Blogs Business is all about the content, as I have been mentioning time and again that Content is the King, make sure you write some ultimate blog posts by which people will like listening to you or gain knowledge from you. No one is perfect, not even myself, we know this fact but at least we can try our best to get near to something perfect? Isn’t it? Today, I am more than happy to be here on this platform where I have although not large but decent number of readers reading my blogs regularly, I am here to guide you, to a perfect road to SUCCESS!
- Forget your old writing habits – this especially, because lots of time it so happens, people start writing their blogs as if writing for some term paper. This is going to be something which would be read by people from all over the globe so make sure you write what is attractive and pleasing, no one wants to hear boring lessons of high schools.
- As they say, Ignorance is Bliss, it helps you while on your path to success, forget your mindset developed in schools. Present age, you should be writing about the current perspective and what people think and should be doing, etc. Ignore what you learnt in the past and move ahead with what is currently required.
- Know your topic – many a times it so happens, people make N number of arrangements to start off with their first blog but suddenly they realize they haven’t yet decided on what their blog would be all about. It’s very necessary to know the base of what you are going to write, there would be different queries, suggestions, questions and answers to be given to what people will ask you on your blog and you cannot surely ignore their comments. The best way to get your blog going is by networking, you can network well with people when you are confident of your topics and thus the interaction starts.
- Create an attractive title – people are just not going to come to your blog reading, you have to attract or impress them through blogging topics. You have the best of content and everything is set to rock but it doesn’t make a point if you can’t attract your readers to read your content and that can happen only through impressive titles of the blogs.
- There is lots of material available on the internet that tells you how to select topics for your content, there are some famous authors giving their views relating to the topics you should go for and also writers helping you pick up a topic so make good research before you head out on your very first blog.
- Get your readers addicted – I have been always a believer that “Books are your best friends” and till present day I stick by my books whenever I am on a travel, and why not, books are the only source, they will never leave you. Make the first impression, the best one in front of your readers through your topics or highlighting important content, this will let them keep coming back to you wanting for some more. It all depends on what topics you write, writing skills, your knowledge base and the passion at which you are raring to go. There are some things which needs to be given due attention here to please your audience – 1) start a conversation with them, 2) make them feel important in the first statement, 3) let them know that they are lucky to read your blog, etc. such few things when kept in mind will lead you to big success.
- Get into details of your experiences – one thing I have realized in my business of blogging is, when you write with an open mind, there is nothing you want to hide. Let your readers truly know who you are and how are you enjoying your experiences as a blogger. People like to read about the stories that relates to an individual’s life, so wake up and get your blogs to the top most position by getting into details and discussing minute details personally.
- Give interesting endings – by this I don’t want to tell you to summarize your blog at the end, there are a few procedures to close your blogs as I had mentioned earlier too, end your blogs with open ended questions that will encourage your readers to put comments or suggestions or their experiences/perceptions, etc. your readers should not feel being left out, make them very much part of your blog by asking them questions which will personally relate to them, chances are you might get more than expected response because everyone wants to get heard and speak about their feelings.
- Make final changes – I know well how it feels writing an essay or a story, do you remember the days you finished your essay in high school and later checked it for any grammatical errors or conjunction errors. The most important of your blogging language is the spelling and grammar, if you fail in this then you stand no chance being liked by people. There were times, when I didn’t had time, proof-reading my blogs and as a result I was criticized for my English, so I advice you to proof-read them and check for errors, if any. You might well want to change the whole statement itself or write an interesting episode, so don’t waste time it will hardly take 2 minutes to do a final check on your content.
- Conclude – everybody is born with an innate quality, which we ourselves might not know, unless you head out to that path and you realize, yes! This is my arena. Likewise, one person’s thinking cannot be matched with others nor can we change someone’s perception about something so best you can do is, write creatively keeping everybody’s point of view and think logically rather than emotionally.
Lots been said and done, different people will have different methods of writing their blogs, I don’t make a compulsion on you to follow mine, but these were my experiences and I realized them too late and I don’t want you to go through same consequences so give your best shot at first go and conquer the race!
Plan Your Topics For Writing a Blog
Plan Your Topics For Writing a Blog With Few Questions In Mind
Well, so you are off to writing a blog for yourself and your readers, by now you might have well even decided on the topic you are going to write about. Some might have got hiccups while I said about deciding on your topic, if that is the scenario with you I think you should be first learning the basics of blogging business. Blogging is meant strictly for
writers whether born writers or trained writers, if you are not good at written notes then you stand no where in the world of blogs network. Choosing a topic for your blogs is as much important as catering to child’s need, unless you feed nutritive food to your child there is no growth, similarly, for blogs you have to select a topic which belongs to user’s arena, the topics they might be interested into or the topics they might gain some knowledge from.
The blog site is just not a site which you design and leave it and expect to get good returns, you have to build a niche for yourself, through which your users will understand your language well. Know the things that your readers would love listening to; bring new insights in your virtual talks with them. To get you started I have few questions in mind you should be asking yourself before starting your blog:
- Know who your readers are? What they are looking for? What they want to read from you? What opinions they have regarding a particular issue?
- Decide the purpose of your writing, what you want to gain out of it? What type of topics are you going to write?
- How you want to convince your readers into agreeing something? How are you going to bring up examples to make them understand something?
- How are you going to bring something in FOCUS for your readers? What points will best convince them of your writings? What details are you going to get for them?
In my experiences I have found that most effective writings centre on a one particular point that makes reading interesting. The details that you are mentioning should always revolve around on that particular point. Decide on one central theme for your stories or descriptions or experiences or researches in your blogs. Focus on what readers want to listen from you and remember the questions I just mentioned above while writing an article. This will ensure that you have targeted readers in your kitty who enjoy reading your blogs.
Blogging Tips For Blog Success – Part II
By now, I hope you are quite well versed with the topics I discussed with you last time, for passionate bloggers I sincerely hope that you might have well already implemented things in your blogging business. Time and again I keep telling people, not to perceive the idea of blogging as making money, you will get when its due, for now, you should simply concentrate how creative you can be and how you can attract people in to reading your articles, furthermore, I
would like to state few more things that can really help you:
- Start blogging with the intention of long term plans, just don’t start with blogs just because you don’t have anything at present. Some bloggers leave blogging because they see no income is pouring in, but let me be clear, blogging doesn’t give returns in a single day, it might take weeks, months to pick up traffic on your site. if you are real fanatic about writing blogs then head out, and have no intention of earning money, when you are selfless of anything you will see how dollars pour in! don’t just count days that you started your blogs, come with fresh content each day on your blogs that is all for you to get going.
- Its fun when you are interact with people over the blogs, they get to know you better and you also get to know who your loyal readers are. May whatever you should blog about, touch people’s heart by your written words, today the fast paced life has made us so easy, a king word, a word of sympathy and caring words might just make someone’s day so make people around you smile and make a difference to your world of blogs. Remember, you are on blogs networks because you have to serve people with problems, or for the people who are looking for some product info, or write a review of some movie or help some cope up with stressful life. A person cant stand lonely for long time, they need interaction, when you interact you know more and helps both the parties to understand each other better, it’s a win-win situation for all.
- Being personal is not any offense as far as you really write an offensive stuff about some entity, by this I mean you can give a personal touch in your message to your audience through which they will feel important and wanted and that is fact if you don’t have audience who will read your blogs, engage yourself with them and blog that will let them feel so close to your blogs. Connect with people and let them know your real self, people are just not thirsty of words, they need a kind support and good friend too, you can be one of them!
- Once when you have started with your blogs, its not enough to stay back and keep writing, your blog needs new fresh stuff to be written each it could be about current events, celebrity events, new products launches, reviews and interviews of big company officials, etc. but that can happen only if you step out of the house and meet people. no one is going to come and give you a ready first-hand information which you will publish, ofcourse, you can even get them through online news but when you personally go and feel and see and meet, it makes all the difference in the way that you will write your blogs. Don’t be a spoil sport of things, head out and socialize, participate in events and attend bloggers gatherings that will give you new insights of things happening around you.
- Building your brand is not easy but also not impossible, it becomes easier when you brand yourself, now this doesn’t mean you need to advertise about your blogs, but you can create it yourself by working sincerely for your blogs. A work becomes famous only when its attractive and people will get attracted only when its worth reading, so write creative stuff and let people enjoy your readings. Don’t go on searching for the loyal people who will read your blogs regularly instead concentrate on making a positive impression in front of them that will attract them more to you and your blogs.
There are very few things to be a successful blogger, but you have to concentrate achieving them, don’t leave the path unfinished if you don’t see people coming, don’t be either nervous or disappointed, believe in yourself and be creative always. Read my next blog post for blog success.
