Managing equivalence in academics and blogs!

Time and again I have always been telling people that academics have more importance than any sports, some might well argue, why is that so? When a person is good in sports, why not excel in that field? I understand what they are trying to say, but as per my view point academics stand a far more importance than other extra curricular activities, it often happens that a student is very good in studies but because of crowd pulling he might loose interest and get more attracted towards extra curricular which he is not at all good at. The great scholars of our times had always stressed importance of education over other worldly enjoyment like sports unless he is going to make sports as his career, even when choosing sports as a career is a good option, I had suggest, Graduation is a must for any individual.

Managing equivilanceThe student entrepreneurs of today simply don’t understand the concept behind education system, they pay more attention to extra curricular activities then academics, the great academicians were never wrong in their belief of education. Although the times are changing, I understand we need to change as per the times, the students who have started earning at young age or are doing business as bloggers they fail to understand that as much as they pay more importance to academics, it will give them good results in future. I remember my high school and college days where I was solely dedicated to books, may it be arts, literature, science or geography, people during those times took keen interest in studying, but who bothers now especially when there are so much options open to them?

Hey, let me tell it doesn’t matter whether you are a student or no, those of you who are trying to take U-turn from here, please stay here, for this is the post that is applicable to students and also a common laymen. You will get good information and tips that will help you balance your work life/students life and blogging life, its not difficult to change from your present routine if you really want to, remember that old saying “Nobody can change your mindset about something, unless you really want to”, the mind game, remember it?

  1. If you are really a go getter and want to excel in whatever field you are in, make key arrangements to manage your time and plan ahead for achieving your goals. People take blogging as full time career or some simply may take to earn that extra buck or some just love the idea of blogs, it is good for people who like to interact and spread their knowledge base to others.
  2. Manage your time along with other chores of your life, do not procrastinate, as that will lead you to no where, I have often seen in my life the people who procrastinate – they do not have any life goals, they are behind from the crowd and have no sense of responsibility, once you stop procrastinating, you will automatically take charge of the things.
  3. You know what differentiates winners from losers, “Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently”, the only thing that will make difference is by doing smart work, think over the ways you will be able to dedicate your time to both the fields.
  4. You can maintain separate calendars for work/student life and blogging life, work calendar would contain all the details of your assignments and blogging calendar will have the days you want to solely dedicate to blogging, you can write various topics you want to write on, etc.
  5. It’s difficult to get rid of your daily schedules, but you have to stick by the new schedule you had made in your work and blogging life. If you are a hard worker and have sole dedication to your work than no one can stop you. When you are disciplined, you will see you have more recreation time for you than you initially thought of. Take control of your time by not wasting your time and get things done before deadline.
  6. Manage your time efficiently is the key to gain success in life, managing is okay, but using it efficiently is still bigger a question, make the maximum of the time available to you by dedicating your work time to work and recreation time to free time.
  7. You can prepare a To-Do list which will help you long way in arranging your time schedule, you can dedicate each hour of your day to specific activity may be reading newspapers, writing for blogs, doing office project, time with kids, shopping, walking, etc.
  8. Develop a routine that is ever lasting, get rid of your old habits and start afresh as if you are changing your life style and take control of things now rather they controlling you later.
  9. Set your priorities, once when you are done with both of your calendars, match them to set your timings to particular activity in a day, it sometimes so happens something comes up urgently and you have to drop your usual plans, in such cases you have to give time to what is most urgent.

I hope by now, I have made myself clear of how to balance work life with blogging life. A work life is a work life and blogging life is a blogging life, understand this difference and you will automatically take charge of things, its about how much really you want to achieve in the world of blogging. Your work life is going to be forever but if you are looking for something different and want to have fun interacting, then blogging is surely the way. I have seen people make 30 hours of 24 hours in a day, now you had wonder how? The answer is by, using your time effectively and efficiently, prioritize your daily routine tasks and do them as needed, if some office urgency is there, leave your blogging life aside for some time that will only make you stronger and active in both the fields.

Life wasn’t that easy when I started off 5 years ago, firstly, I dint had any finance to start off something of my own which I always dreamt off, since I was a child. I was a regular student going to school, finished my college, etc. until the day I finished my high grads I dint had a bit of idea of what I can do and where I stand today, when I think of my hay days I really think, how life would have been if I wouldn’t have been in to the world of Internet. As they say, they say it right and I completely agree to the old time saying, “Opportunity doesn’t knock twice”, for me there were lots of ups and downs in life and taking up one particular path and that too without guarantee whether I would succeed in it, I took it up with much enthusiasm and vigor and by god’s grace, the dices have turned right for me, today I stand at the peak of mountain of networks which are so entangled inside and so interconnected that even if I wish I would never get out of it, such is my story and if you ask me whether I would leave my profession any time in future, it’s a straight NO, I Love what I am doing and I Love to be one amongst the crowd, talk to them, mingle with them, discuss issues, etc. if you are wondering, after all, what shit I am talking about from the start of my life, let me tell you one thing simple and straight, that might get you some idea of what I am talking about, “Welcome to the world of Blogging Networks”.

I am Chris Peterson from New Jersey, my story might be very similar to common people and if it wouldn’t have been for that one particular incident in my life that changed my whole life I would have been a normal 9 to 5 office goer. As they say success doesn’t come easy, it requires a sheer hard work and dedication to achieve something on in life, without hard work and dedication you are not going to get smooth road to success. Well, to start off, my life had been a roller coaster ride in a pool of galaxy which had no clue which direction to enter and which planet to go for! I was working as a computer administrator in a local school teaching students computers and looking after the school network, then one opportunity stuck in, I was very happy about it at the start but dint quite turned out well the way I had expected, it was an offer from some multinational company, it was a normal job, nothing great, it had irregular working hours and the salary was much less than what I was working for, but to earn for living, I went on it with for nearly 2 years.

In the span of 2 years, I tried to make extra money by working as a salesman in a local outlet or going to other companies with some hope of better pay, etc but nothing really came across to stick to it and so I continued with the same job. Then suddenly one fine day, a friend of mine, David visited me and I told him about my dilemma and so he offered me to work for him so again this came as a golden opportunity for a change. I never knew that this would change my entire life, I had the profile of attending clients call, handling networking problems, taking up website orders, sending yearly bills, accepting payments, it was nothing of very great job but it was good and I liked it, as time passed I got a bit deeper in to what actual technical stuff he was doing and before I could realize I was learning everything relating to Internet, their networks, programming etc. I was totally new to this arena but I continued to learn and once the time came when I started knowing more things than David did and so he offered me partnership in his firm, and then there was no looking back, together we used to go pitching about our company, it was a simple networking company then and we did get some good offers from companies.

Slowly, after 6 months passed I was an expert in the field of marketing, websites, networks, etc. you name it and I had an answer. There were positive happenings in my life as my friend encouraged me to do new things and all turned out successful, we came up with few websites that could make money from Adsense and those websites were optimized to get the maximum output, we made real good money. Then came Blogging, I wondered with the idea whether it would get me success, I tried and it really did, today we are a successful blogging sites with professional panel of writers at our end and I also blog about few topics as and when I get time. Bloggingwithchris was a great success, investors came in and we were better off, then we could really think. We started getting offers from companies to partner with them, some offered us good money for putting their ads on our site. We started with small but made a big impact on our readers, today there are so many unique visitors on my site each day and I personally make a point to visit my site once in a day and look up, what people want and are looking for, from us.

I faced lots of hardships initially, was criticized by other networks, some dint like our websites design, some topics had controversies, etc. but I could just tell one thing, we just improved each day accepting criticisms, it was a welcome from all to criticize us as we were enjoying it to the limit that it helped us improve better and serve people. frankly speaking, I never thought I could make this much money by just blogging, I just loved to interact with people and so came up with the blogs, people loved it and there are our loyal readers who support us big way. Since long time I was waiting for this chance to write something for my loyal readers but never actually got time, my main aim to tell you my life story is giving you inspiration and on a personal note I wanted you to know me as a person than a blogger. You can write to me about any suggestions you have for our site, relating to the content, etc. My advice to you is, “Forget past and walk ahead!

Looking for work but don’t want to look Desperate

As the world is getting more globalize, it has created more jobs for the people especially for the ones with specific qualifications, if you are in any particular field, say IT, then there would be sub categories in that field and professionals are trained to specialize in those sub-categories, such is the market demand for professionals, we see people are being sent to different nations for training or job purposes or called over by companies for temporary purpose, etc. As today’s market are more demanding, the rules have become more stricter but at the same time there have been lots of manipulation happening all over, you never really know if the company exists at all, who is calling you abroad to join in their workforce. Recently I came across a thread over Internet where there was a special topic on how to ask for referrals to your new clients, it is true, whomever you do business with, you never really know the reputation unless you have heard of them before, there have been many such instances, where people feel a bit hesitant especially dealing with their new clients, what if they are offended is a big question?

desperate

People are often stuck in a similar types of situations where they really don’t know where to stop, what to ask for, and when to say? Given below are some of the points that might help you overcome your stigma, perhaps learning from your weaknesses will help you out to stand out from the crowd, don’t get desperate when you are looking for a job, or asking for any client’s information should be the norm.

  • Choose the best time – as you understand the importance of time you will know how to get things by speaking at the perfect time. You have to have in your mind the things you want to get done to sell your products. There was this one very interesting incident which happened recently at one of the dinner parties I had been, there was one lady guest here who was designing beaded necklace and before any one knew it she was out displaying her designs and went on her sales pitch to sell her neck pieces. She obviously had some good collections personally designed by her but this was not the right time when everybody had come to meet each other, she dint sell anything that night then. In similar cases, if you feel that you strongly need to sell then most you could do is to ask for their business card and contact them later.
  • Be proactive always when you are dealing with your clients that will help you in longer run. Don’t just dig into your client to set up a new client network instead you can suggest your friend about the requirements in office if you come across one. Or you can drop a congratulatory note for your client’s wife who has just delivered. If you hit upon an interesting articles you can forward it to your friends and let them know about the new network. Try to build up the goodwill with them and later ask for favors you want to get done.
  • Don’t settle or compromise for less, I know you have longing so long for work but that doesn’t mean you have to do everything and anything, resist the urge to say your would be employee that you can do anything for them. For supporting yourself for a while the least you could do is to start freelancing that will help you financially till the time you get some good job. If you are a true professional you will get the job you have been looking for, many people out of desperation start doing jobs they actually don’t want to do when they are having much more qualifications. You don’t need to beg for the job that you want, talk to your employee what specifically you are looking for, join social networks where you will meet people and they might help you join the company needing you.
  • When you are talking to the company officials don’t get bogged down by too much requests like “can I have a little time of yours” or “I hope it isn’t too much I am asking for”, etc. no one is bound by any obligations to help you, its up to the people whether they really want to help you in what you want to achieve. Don’t make your clients or friends feel awkward to tell you NO for the request, it can be possible that they are really busy or cant take out time for you.
  • Don’t forget to show gratitude towards what someone has done for you, don’t forget to thank them. Your clients will appreciate you for giving them a creative thank you there are many ways through which you can thank your clients. You can send them a cake during their birthdays, or sent out a holiday tour voucher, or shopping vouchers, you can also show them gratitude by returning their favors this way you can maintain good steady relationships with your clients and also the business partners.

You can add up your comments or suggestions or any tips you had like readers to read. Your comments are invited and do write what you feel about the things I have written.

Can The Smaller Niches Really Be Beneficial?

It is not hard to guess that the playing field the vast world of the Internet provides for a large number of online business owners is becoming quite a bit more competitive than it was just a few short years ago. As time has went on almost every single topic imaginable online has been entirely saturated by numerous online companies and entrepreneurs. Because of this fact it now takes a great deal more thought and effort to become popular with any type of new idea that you may decide to pursue. With an endless amount of individuals coming up with similar ideas, you will of course need a cutting edge advantage to become successful.

Although the playing field has changed somewhat there are still many areas online that allow online businesses and individuals to make money. However, to effectively begin an adventure that does not continuously mean a large amount of struggling on your part, you will need to zero your efforts in on specific subtopics. For example, this simply means instead of focusing on a top name in the shoe industry, you will notice more benefit if you will zero in on a particular type of shoe for children. In today’s competitive grounds it is simply much easier to attack a sub-niche than to try to target and compete with a top name in the entire industry.

3 Effective Ways To Segment A Specific Niche

  1. Geographic location – Just because you initially focus on one set geographical area does not mean that your focus cannot be extended to larger areas later on. There are many large name companies that started out with their focus on specific areas. As time went on and their success grew, that is when the area’s they focused on also grew.
  2. Topic – The Adwords Keyword Tool can be very helpful when you are trying to narrow the search on subtopics down to those that seem to hold the most interest with Internet users.
  3. Audience – Although most of us try to come up with creative content that reaches every single user of the Internet, it can be much more beneficial to try to gain the attention of a targeted audience.

In the explanations below you see exactly why using a sub-topic niche is a choice that can payoff in the long run.

You will stand out in the crowd

When you have selected a sub-topic niche that does not have the amount of competition that is found on larger topics, you are opening yourself up for more potential later on. The market that you target will be smaller in the beginning, but over time as you acquire a solid foundation and popularity, the market area that you can focus on with have no limit. Using this method is one that allows you to dominate the niche you have chosen much easier and much more successfully. It gives your business the opportunity to specialize in the topic of interest you have selected, which will generally mean a higher level of expertise. This is a factor that will stand out a great deal when it comes to prospective leads and long-term client relationships.

Higher conversions result from targeted audiences that are more defined

This is a tactic that can result in more interest for your products simply because you are focusing on attracting a targeted audience that has an interest in the product message you are delivering. This leads to a stronger following of clients and conversion rates that are higher.

Achieving future expansion is much easier

Focusing on a smaller target audience gives you the advantage of expanding to larger areas using a step-by-step basis. As your success and following build, you will then be able to implement the same tactics in other areas. Beginning small does not always mean your success will also be small.
