Many people are of the opinion that when you are already in to a corporate ladder why you need a resume, after all resumes are meant for those seeking jobs in a company, some may say it’s a thing of the past and yet many freelancers are of opinion that they don’t require it at all. Although the fact is that they are many more advantages of a resume then you really think of, a Resume is a personal database which states your experiences, your qualifications, your achievements, etc. it’s a quick profile which your employers or clients can see and decide on the future of dealings.

There have been lots of debates happening here and there, arguments over whether resumes are a must or are they really needed for any assignments, from my point of view, as an experienced person I had say you need a resume if you really looking to impress your clients and for all those of our freelancer friends I would like to state that they would require them to apply for gigs. If you are having a fully fledged resume with all the details about yourself and the company over your website then its more likely that your clients will get interested in you and may go on to read more on your website. There have been many freelancers who are of the opinion that if their businesses are well built they don’t need any such documents to persuade their clients but having resumes helps you to build your reputation and helps to set your own brand, having a professional resume over the site is of great advantage.

New times have bought new changes, the way we write a resumes a decade back were different than what today’s resumes demand and many of our new age free lancers don’t understand the new rules of writing a resume there are many tricks to write a resume through which your clients would be attracted towards you, I have stated some of the methods through which you can learn to write a very powerful winning resume. It doesn’t matter whether you are working for someone or you are not going to apply for any new job in the future having a company’s powerful profile is important for yourself and the company.

The main thing what today’s resume demands is a profile more than what objectives you might be having, objectives have become a thing of the past with more demands and even more supply you have to get your resume right on the top to make it look different from the rest. Create a profile which is really powerful, its different from that of your objectives, profiles are focused more on your professional front and speaks of what you have to offer.

Let me give you a brief idea of what all things your profile should speak about:

Write a resume

Make sure to write a resume in a clear language, we know that creative writing sales, the power packed economy wants people with innovative minds your resume will speak a lot about you and that it will boost your sales too. Along with your image it will increase the reputation of your company and consumers will start taking keen interest in the products you are selling. Your resume should be easily interactive and the one which is communicative leader in the market takes the whole market, in your resume you can include the company profiles of the people you have dealt with and also the company’s achievements, etc. focusing on the aspects that will impress your clients is important just don’t boost any if you haven’t achieved, state the facts and figures.

While writing a resume, state the best attributes about you, add interesting facts first that will let your clients read further, adding some meat to your profiles makes it more data filled. Don’t make obvious statements about you like that “I am a strong worker”, let your client decide on that. Highlight the things you want them to know through easy language not sounding that of a booster, if you are a good speaker than you can practically explain your points when asked in an interview.

Don’t go on writing a resume just to make it look bigger with pages that will bore your clients, state in a short and sweet language that your client gets a detailed about you and your company just by having a quick glance at the resume. Write the matters that relate to you and what all things you have achieved in your career. If you are having experience in varied fields then state them as your interests and that you are capable of multi-tasking in development, design, programming, etc. as a company person you can also state the services that your company provides and the objectives that your company has achieved. Once you have made your aim to write a refreshing company profile, adding your qualities there is one thing you can add up is to add some important key words regarding the work you do.

You must have seen many a company profiles which includes the key words that are most sought after in search engines, this will help you to rake up the demand on famous search websites. You can include all those services you are serving and other new items which you have included in your company sales, etc. the applications and technologies that you are using in your company may be a good indicator to your clients regarding the work that you are doing.

One very important thing to note here is may whatever you write or wherever you write whether on blog or company profiles or ads or emails, write in as a third person. You can leave your comments or suggestions.

Ways to market your products & services

Increasing knowledge base of customers and people across nations have left wider choices not only in the products they use but also at the professional front, the globalizing economies have bought the world closer then initially thought after. There are so many specific professional courses available across continents catering to specific industries may it be clothing, share marketing, gold selling or medicals, the choices are just expanding by the day and its become all the more beneficial for freelancers alike because they can opt for the field of their choice and work as per their conveniences, and choices. Marketing is one such vast field which has many takers, although it’s a very challenging field it has loads of perks and incentives for a truly dedicated professional, it has gained lots of momentum in the recent past with marketing professionals in great demand worldwide, the developed and developing nations of the world may develop products, designs, etc. but in the end they require marketers to market their products, there is where the role of professionals come in.

There is a great joy in working for a specific niche, lets take an example that of a marketer, as the field is so vast and so much in demand it makes a lot of sense to become a freelancer. To build up a reputation of your own is easy but to maintain it is difficult, for if you become a freelancing designer tomorrow, you wouldn’t be bound by any company rules and also that you can do multiple projects at a time without any obligations. At the very start it may sound a little tough, but as you go on creating your specific niche, you become master of things, and focusing on them will let you gain client’s respect and confidence. The best way to attract customers to you is to be accessible, the more you are accessible to them the more they will come to you, given below are some of the things which will help you get to your prospective buyers easily.

Joining a local industrial group is one option of great help, most of the times we see there are individual groups or organizations catering to people of different professionals, and whoever the client requiring services can contact those groups directly, this becomes easier for both the groups. Some organizations have no limitations to the number of members joining the group or whether if you are affiliated to any other group of companies. As a freelancer you have the power to write the sales copy for one unique dealer and also can join other similar groups who are into such profession.

You can make your work famous or you as a freelance professional by organizing a newsletter of your own which caters to your particular niche. The main objective should be to get your name listed amongst your prospective clients and that can be done by sending a newsletter to your customers. You can create your reputation by helping them with useful business tips or helping them get a contract. If your clients are net savvy than you can even send out regular emails to them and get yourself connected to them on a regular basis.

Start attending industrial conferences, this in one way helps you to your own benefit as you learn different things and come across wider clients or prospective buyers to talk to. You may not be in a position to attend world conferences as they might sound a bit expensive, attending regional or national conference or even attending a meet next door can be of great help. Focus on your objectives and don’t get carried away by other people’s perceptions or thinking.

Focus on your portfolio, it shouldn’t matter to you to the number of clients you have in your kitty, you go on giving your quality services to them without any expectations. Even if you don’t have the number of clients ideally it should have been you keep your portfolio the same as to the number of services you were providing to your clients relating to making or designing of websites or for that matter even a business card.

Study the industry you belong to, no matter whether your related industry is in demand or no you have to be expert in the field and know every detail of it. The choice you have made is your own and you have to love your work so more things you will know about your work, the more you will explore and excel in life. Before you approach your clients you should know the product well in detail and know its advantages over other products, there is no point in dealing with your clients if your niche is something else and the product belongs to some other industry.

It so happens many a times doing repetitive jobs sounds monotonous to some professionals and frequently they start feeling lucrative about the jobs they are doing. In any field the work would obviously be a bit repetitive in nature but handling wider varieties of projects can make your work interesting and as you start having deeper interest in your work you will start liking the so – called monotonous work you are doing and very soon you will become an expert in your field. You will be specialized in your field and very soon you will wonder as to the amount of knowledge you held in the said field and you may see more inquiries coming in then normal ones. As you specialize in particular area you can hike your fees along with the amount of quality services you should be giving to your valuable clients,

As a freelancer you can achieve lots more than what you had be getting in a normal nine to five jobs, you would get more experience, more exposure and more knowledge, but remember the niche you belong to and never change it for some more attractive offer. You can type in your suggestions or comments that would be of great help to our new age freelancers.

You can now make your work look stunning with just regular writing

Many people who prefer to be freelancers believe that writing for posts will benefit freelance journalists and also for copywriters alike. Actually, if they are thinking this way its right for them as all the trades are based on excellent designing and stuff if you are in that field you will try to make your work as pleasing as possible if that is what the client requirement is. I have this experience for some years now, and if you are going to ask me whether writing really benefits freelancers, my opinion might be a biased opinion but if you are asking the person who has had the experience in different types of trade and different careers then they might as well have discovered the value of the words which are written and they well know how to build relationship through that. Through such works, even problems can be solved, you can learn so much by putting your skills in just one particular subject.

Some of the tips that you can follow, which will ensure that even when you are a regular writer, your work will look like a true piece of literary:

The first and the foremost you could do is to generate ideas, while you generate ideas it will give you different insights into the situation take for example the case of scribbling the drawings in a piece of paper this activity will surely help the people to come up with different ideas that also includes writers, writing will help you to pick up some ideas which are extracted from the depth of your brains and this will surely enhance your thinking power it can also inspire your client over the project which is pending and also useful for marketing firms.

Freelancer just doesn’t have one thing to do, there are hundreds of things that are lined up even before you finish your present task so that’s the game here you have to handle multiple tasks at a time multi-tasking is what that’s called in an IT field, there are number of work actions like sales, marketing, invoicing, project work, dealing with clients, sub-contractors, etc. along with your professional life comes your personal life too along with so many responsibilities to handle. Its okay to let go off your daily routine tasks sometimes in a blue moon, you just cannot take things for granted when it comes to your professional and home front. If you let go off these tasks on a regular basis, then there would be a mind sweep which will let you do the same thing again so repeatedly. Prepare a task list which will help you do your tasks in an organized way.

You got to improve your writing skills as and when gradually you enter in to the task of writing, writing on a regular basis helps you to get good hold over the pen and along with that comes varied ideas which might have never occurred to you unless you thought over it while writing. Most of the freelancers are good at this job because they are multi tasking people and well know in and out of these game where words are all we need! If you want to be a good professional in any field relating to writing or broadcasting you have to have good set of English communication skills right in your brains. Practice will make you perfect so go ahead and communicate.

You can think of extending your services by increasing your work or your clients, depends on the type of the job you are already in. if you follow the rule 3 of writing a perfect English articles its just not related to writing, if you have good spoken English you can still make that first perfect impression and get set to go ahead in life. You might find it easy to extend your services by offering complimentary services when the task itself is getting easier for you.

Solving problems is one big solution in itself, everybody faces different types of problems in their daily lives may it be relating to writing, or home front if we want to get rid of our problems we have to get to the bottom of the things. As the problems are solved, you get rid of your worries and get well paid by your company. If you find yourself not knowing something of the problems, something that leads to misunderstanding can be a big mistake so stay well informed before the problem occurs and try to solve them immediately when you encounter them. And sometimes it so happens that your frustration is so much at a higher level that it keeps you prevented from thinking over the matter objectively and in a calculated way.You can make use of the written words so that becomes easier for you to solve your problem in a relaxed manner, this will help you solve your problems in a more linear and rational way.

Make yourself so adjusted to the outcomes of a project report or production in your company that you never feel stressed out in your work life or personal life. Write down all the important things in your life in a piece of paper and see the difference in the way you feel about your problems, may it be your problems or something that really made you happy that day. When you get to the bottom of your frustration levels and jot it down in a piece of paper you will find it easier to rant out all the pains in your life. Try it, it really works!

If you are creative enough then you open yourself to the great outside world opportunities, all the business or the decisions you take in life have many an uncertainty and risk factors involved but we have to face them and not turn away from it. If you think of Marla you might well wonder how she is having a ball, how she has been the queen of roost and what all things does marla know that Lou doesn’t know. To put it straight and perfect you should first understand what qualification a person is having, not just the book knowledge a person has to be creative from inside, Marla is one of those consummate creative entrepreneur, she has one of the best qualities that anyone would vouch for, being a creative thinker, if you have yourself those inner qualities you can do whatever you wish in life, people get things done when they are serious of their thoughts and serious about achieving their targets. Marla has a reason; people love her because of the reason that she doesn’t fear failure and is always ready to work with big or small enterprises, even an ally. Its not just her niche in artistic world she also has great entrepreneurial vision which allows her to do magical things that leads to great opportunities just out of no where, her mind is that of a business savvy mind which always is looking out for something new.

For mastering in things you want to achieve in life you have to have that creativity in you and the 3 critical skill sets which are mentioned below:

All the successes in life are not achieved with a click of a mouse you need to master them by putting your skills and sharpening your skill set with due knowledge setting your objectives straight.

Collaboration – you have to connect to your partners to come out with good solution that will help you to keep pace with the competition, it will help you to work in close bonds with clients, partners, investors and professionals.

Creativity – you can create new ideas by generating them, evaluate them with effect and take actions to run them in the company that will help you increase your sales and provide good services too.

Entrepreneurship – identify the opportunities that come your way in market place or also in big companies, change your skills into actions and implement them.

We have known and we have seen that entrepreneurs totally rely on the creativity aspect and produce wealth accordingly if you see the modern day entrepreneurs you can see the concept of wealth creation goes even further as John Howkins rightly said that creative entrepreneurs are those who use their creative power to create wealth which lies in themselves rather than using outside resources.

By using their creative power entrepreneurs create value for themselves and for the company, the value is not just the physical products but these are some of the most demandable intangible assets like the brand name of the company, reputation, intelligence and network of partners. They are so used to projecting new things and bring up a desired position in the market and elsewhere in the world. The people who are creative entrepreneurs are not always freelancers, some are bound by company regulations and restrictions but they can surely help to innovate and bring up new things in the company. Freelancers are the people who do their work independently they are not bound by any regulations, they are paid by companies or individuals for particular task they are asked to do. This is the way they earn their livelihood, they charge their fees by the projects they day, on an hourly basis or daily basis depending on their work type. Freelancers are always in search of new challenging work which will give them proper edge over their other counterparts who are working for companies. Creative entrepreneurs are those individuals who are always ready to grab new opportunities thereby increasing their own expectation, and they produce results accordingly, the very same outlook brings them good opportunities and create a system for themselves and others around them that will help in wealth generation. Now let’s take a quick look at Mary’s story.

There was this young girl who always wanted to draw pictures, at the age of 11 she had enough of skills that her family created a studio specially for her by emptying their closet this was the place where she used to sit and draw the pictures for hours together without worrying about summers or winters. Slowly and gradually as the days passed she turned from a girl to woman and still kept on drawing pictures. She finally took up a job at some ad agency and also did freelancing work for clients with commission but she was not very happy with the type of the work she was doing that of drawing things which were ordered so there she started with her licensed drawings which she herself designed and sold to other greeting card companies and there grew her income level and her satisfaction for the job increased.

Not only just greeting card industry, she ventured out into other media and also hired staff to look after her wide number of fields. Even today she keeps drawing all her licensed designs and her staff get them reformatted and get them licensed for calendars picture, cards, animated films, t-shirts, mugs, books, etc. she became so famous in just no time that she launched her national magazine with her own name “Mary Engelbreit’s home companion”. If she wouldn’t have taken this step of doing some thing of her own, she had be freelancer or a contract author with companies to design their products. Mary would surely be happy individual with income and all but wouldn’t have got the satisfaction of her skills what she has today. She is now an entrepreneur, a creative entrepreneur just through her talent and hopes she has reached such great height, she now licenses her art and has built up a big business behind her name. she has already touched $1 billion of sales through retail selling, the art lovers know her name well and is an inspiration to millions of people world wide. She has also partnered with charity first book where she promotes literacy by giving millions of books to children belonging to the parents of low income group.

The concept of conventional thinking pursues the world of art and business as 2 different entities, they don’t have anything in common. We are all here to think of all the uncreative ways through which we can look at things in the case of Mary Engelbreit we can see the qualities of both an artist and that of an entrepreneur both of them working in great harmony.

While still many of us keep deciding out future plans till we finish our high school, there was this girl who made a firm decision of being an artist some day just at the mere age of 11, she has taken her company to amazing heights through her sheer hard work and success and of course dedication. Mary Engelbriet studios have acquired world famous name today with global licensing of her designs and she has entered in different arenas like the retail business, she is the same girl who still sits with her designs with same enthusiasm and with the same wonder, the same hopes and the same imagination.

Take the case of Caterina Fake, a designer, she started out with plain designer and was later working as Art director in some famous company, she also started with photo sharing portal which is today world famous. her famous business interests include sitting on the boards of creative commons and Etsy, she also takes interest in speaking at conferences and also gives lectures at universities and takes initiative in advising the starters in the field. She also takes deep interest in writing and also writes some fiction stories and also takes keen interest in poetry, art installations and making sculpture designs. Do you think her business is any different from the works of a creative artist?

Creative has no end. Marla wouldn’t have said so, she is herself “Artist in business” promoting business line, she describes herself as being an artist who is involved in the business and also an entrepreneur whose main line of business consists of creative art. Today we can term anyone as an entrepreneur because somewhere or the other we have created that niche for ourselves and others so that we can pursue our own life goals. Lou is finding that in full fledged, working out on his costs factor, the fears of steady job and searching a predictable career path, these are now only historical relics that change with time. The risk here is that of security the steps we take while adopting and entrepreneurial approach, we take up responsibilities and try to develop our skills in that field, we build up our network of clients, partners, investors and also build up a good reputation and proper skill set to achieve our goals. If we are working somewhere, you always learn something or the other, a learning experience while earning money and its an investment in itself that will remain with you as a knowledge forever.

This sounds like a real great news for someone like Jack who loves his independence unlimitedly. He always has something or the other to offer for some creative side of the projects currently on. He will go on and on till the time he become bored of his work and is made redundant, he keeps writing blogs every evenings through those flexed muscles landing him a book to write may not be a bad option after all, he has his collaborations with people around the globe. He knows that he can make it really big by writing blogs and make it big and take it too bigger heights, its not just about achieving one’s dreams it actually takes more than your dreams to succeed in the path you have selected.

The economy today is full of creative artist where people want to see something new and something which has good logic. It might sound easy to come up with creative ideas but only the artist knows what it takes to during brainstorming sessions. We can start up with a total different avenue in the field of art and creative. Please do not forget to write your comments regarding the things I have written and tell me your views of being an entrepreneur, the challenges that you will face and also using your creative side at the same time, etc.
