I usually find people have some kind of perception about Google Search Engine SEO and the kind of work they do. Even people say SEO for a blog or a website is useless; this is a misconception because there are large numbers of SEO myths. Regrettably, the myths are spread on the forums and blogs, which is really miserable for new blogger or for a new website. Before spreading these myths, readers don’t even try to do research on it and believe it to be true. These myths can be really harmful and thus I want to share some of the common SEO myths which you might have heard or read somewhere which are definitely not correct.

  • Meta Tags for High Ranking:

I have seen so many good ranked sites with absolutely no Meta tags. So this is a most popular myth that words in your Meta tags must be used on your page. The truth is just opposite. Meta tags were designed to be used for keywords that were not on the page.

  • PPC ads will affect your Ranking:

This just makes me laugh, because PPC ads don’t affect your Google ranking. Neither it lowers your ranking nor does it bring your ranking up.

  • You need to have H1 Tag (Header Tag):

Using H1 tags affect your ranking to very negligible ratio. My own test doesn’t found any drastic changed because

of H1 tag, rather its bit difficult to find out the exact result.

  • No need to Update:

Many people say that you don’t need to update your site to maintain your ranking. In fact, it is recommended that on updating your pages on regular basis helps bots to visit your site to list the changes. If updating if your site is ignored that your rank can easily slip out.

  • Duplicate content is harmless:

It is a pure myth that duplicate content doesn’t affect your page ranking. Content is the most important factor and thus it should be original and unique, otherwise you will lose your loyal readers as well as search engine rank

  • Follow Google guidelines:

Many think that their site will be banned if they don’t follow Google webmaster guidelines. Google guidelines are very easy and very common but don’t do it for search engine. Use only that guideline which you feel appropriate for yourself.

  • Keyword stuffing will give you higher rank:

This is wrong .If you are stuffing keywords or having hidden text on your site, you can get banned from search engines.

  • Google sitemap is compulsory:

Google sitemap is not at all compulsory if you have structured website. If you think that Google sitemap is going to raise your ranking then I would suggest better not to go for that. It’s not bad to have Google sitemap but having just for the sake of high ranking is bad. Your site just needs to be spider friendly. For higher search engine ranking read here.

  • Content should have more than 250 words:

It’s not compulsory to have more than 250 words content .There is no hard and fast rule for SEO. Important point is it should be interesting even with fewer words with uniqueness and proper keywords you can attract search engines. Short article do same for your rank as long articles do. For Writing Skills read here.

  • SEO is very simple to learn:

This is the worst myth. SEO is not a one or two month task. Not everyone can do it. There are many activities involved in SEO job and you have to do it professionally.

Blogging has become real huge now and I have seen many companies publishing their ads through blogs rather than printing postures, may be that this way its more economical and can reach wider audience too at the same time. But what really attracts a person to the blog, is it a title or the body of the article or simply through a suggestion. Most of the times it happens and even few of us might have experienced that we read articles based on their titles, if the title sounds interesting than it can lure your readers into reading further. Some of you, who are new to blogs, might not even know that your titles or the keywords are the prime most important things that will direct a position of your site in search engines. If you have attractive title with widely used keywords in it then surely it is going to push your site at the top most pages of the search engines but for that you need to come up or rather know the key words which your audience would be searching over the net.

So before you head out to write your blogs, the first and foremost is to decide upon an attractive title for your blogs. You must have quite noticed when you search something over internet there is more probability of you finding the pages with exactly the same words that you typed in search engines the reason being, the site members have researched well as to what their audience would search, identifying such keywords is not difficult and with the help of Google adwords keyword tool you can find all the keywords which are searched the most.

You can only build your brand over your blogging

networks once you gain your readers support and that will gradually happen as they start liking your topics and the content you have written. Make use of google tools and research the words that the users are most likely to type in search engines, if you belong to a particular niche say writing only about management then search for words which people would search. Remember, while you put in the keywords, think of the words that you as a reader would be keying in to search for the topics that would give you an idea.

The search volume for the keywords will help you find the volume of the key words which are searched on Internet on a monthly basis, if you have few lots of words then go for the once which are rated highest in the adwords tool. Keep in mind that even a single word in your title here and there would cause a lot of changes in your rankings, in my research I have found that the titles which starts from “how to”, “how is”, etc. are the most searched upon compared to normal sentences and its but obvious when people would search to find the procedure for something they are going to type “how to”. So research well for the titles you are going to put in and get good search engine rankings.

Do you benefit from high levels of income generated through Google Adsense?

It is not uncommon to read informative articles or newsletters that state there are some people who earn as much as $10,000 in a month’s time by taking advantage of Adsense marketing. You may have even heard stories of individuals who have earned as much as $1 million in a year’s time, with the earning power that Google advertisements supplied them with.

When site owners obtain ads from Google adsense, there is no time required for selling the product. Google adsense simply gives you a code that will generate the display of a targeted advertisement to appear on your site. The idea is to get visitors that come to your site to click on these advertisements, and in turn you are able to earn a commission. This is a popular way to generate larger amounts of income, but there site owners that do not maximize benefits in using Adsense to the fullest potential.

6 effective ways to increase levels of revenue using Google Adsense

  1. Pick the right spot – Generally the middle of a website is saved for informative content on a site. Therefore, it is best to place your block for Adsense at the very top portion of your site page. The idea is to format your site in such a way that the ads do not appear as advertisements, but instead look like additional links offering information for the services or products of your site.
  2. Select a beneficial size – Many website owners have found that they can gain the most benefit from choosing the large rectangle (336×280) ad format. This is simply because the other choices, such as the Wide Skyscraper (160×600) and the Leaderboard (728×90), look exactly like advertisements, whereas the rectangle format does not, which means it receives the largest number of clicks.
  3. Do away with borders – Website owners have found by simply making one small change in their Google ad appearance, it increases amounts of revenue they earn, and this is by removing the border. Borders totally take away from the effect that you are trying to create with the ads being additional content added to your site.
  4. Font likeness – The content on your site should look the same as the font style and size of your block for Google adsense. This helps to give it the natural appearance and smooth flow of being another part of your site.
  5. Color matching – Just as with the fonts, the colors used in the ads should also match the color schemes that you choose for your site.
  6. Remove distractions – Cramming too many graphics or links into a website page can be very distracting, and many times it will result in the customer becoming frustrated and leaving your site to find one that is much more user-friendly. If it is not an essential part of your site, then do not include it.

Website owners often notice a dramatic difference with the click-thru ratio of the ads contained on their site, simply by keeping these 6 steps in mind.
