I usually find people have some kind of perception about Google Search Engine SEO and the kind of work they do. Even people say SEO for a blog or a website is useless; this is a misconception because there are large numbers of SEO myths. Regrettably, the myths are spread on the forums and blogs, which is really miserable for new blogger or for a new website. Before spreading these myths, readers don’t even try to do research on it and believe it to be true. These myths can be really harmful and thus I want to share some of the common SEO myths which you might have heard or read somewhere which are definitely not correct.

Meta Tags for High Ranking:

I have seen so many good ranked sites with absolutely no Meta tags. So this is a most popular myth that words in your Meta tags must be used on your page. The truth is just opposite. Meta tags were designed to be used for keywords that were not on the page.

PPC ads will affect your Ranking:

This just makes me laugh, because PPC ads don’t affect your Google ranking. Neither it lowers your ranking nor does it bring your ranking up.

You need to have H1 Tag (Header Tag):

Using H1 tags affect your ranking to very negligible ratio. My own test doesn’t found any drastic changed because

of H1 tag, rather its bit difficult to find out the exact result.

No need to Update:

Many people say that you don’t need to update your site to maintain your ranking. In fact, it is recommended that on updating your pages on regular basis helps bots to visit your site to list the changes. If updating if your site is ignored that your rank can easily slip out.

Duplicate content is harmless:

It is a pure myth that duplicate content doesn’t affect your page ranking. Content is the most important factor and thus it should be original and unique, otherwise you will lose your loyal readers as well as search engine rank

Follow Google guidelines:

Many think that their site will be banned if they don’t follow Google webmaster guidelines. Google guidelines are very easy and very common but don’t do it for search engine. Use only that guideline which you feel appropriate for yourself.

Keyword stuffing will give you higher rank:

This is wrong .If you are stuffing keywords or having hidden text on your site, you can get banned from search engines.

Google sitemap is compulsory:

Google sitemap is not at all compulsory if you have structured website. If you think that Google sitemap is going to raise your ranking then I would suggest better not to go for that. It’s not bad to have Google sitemap but having just for the sake of high ranking is bad. Your site just needs to be spider friendly. For higher search engine ranking read here.

Content should have more than 250 words:

It’s not compulsory to have more than 250 words content .There is no hard and fast rule for SEO. Important point is it should be interesting even with fewer words with uniqueness and proper keywords you can attract search engines. Short article do same for your rank as long articles do. For Writing Skills read here.

SEO is very simple to learn:

This is the worst myth. SEO is not a one or two month task. Not everyone can do it. There are many activities involved in SEO job and you have to do it professionally.

Blogging has become real huge now and I have seen many companies publishing their ads through blogs rather than printing postures, may be that this way its more economical and can reach wider audience too at the same time. But what really attracts a person to the blog, is it a title or the body of the article or simply through a suggestion. Most of the times it happens and even few of us might have experienced that we read articles based on their titles, if the title sounds interesting than it can lure your readers into reading further. Some of you, who are new to blogs, might not even know that your titles or the keywords are the prime most important things that will direct a position of your site in search engines. If you have attractive title with widely used keywords in it then surely it is going to push your site at the top most pages of the search engines but for that you need to come up or rather know the key words which your audience would be searching over the net.

So before you head out to write your blogs, the first and foremost is to decide upon an attractive title for your blogs. You must have quite noticed when you search something over internet there is more probability of you finding the pages with exactly the same words that you typed in search engines the reason being, the site members have researched well as to what their audience would search, identifying such keywords is not difficult and with the help of Google adwords keyword tool you can find all the keywords which are searched the most.

You can only build your brand over your blogging

networks once you gain your readers support and that will gradually happen as they start liking your topics and the content you have written. Make use of google tools and research the words that the users are most likely to type in search engines, if you belong to a particular niche say writing only about management then search for words which people would search. Remember, while you put in the keywords, think of the words that you as a reader would be keying in to search for the topics that would give you an idea.

The search volume for the keywords will help you find the volume of the key words which are searched on Internet on a monthly basis, if you have few lots of words then go for the once which are rated highest in the adwords tool. Keep in mind that even a single word in your title here and there would cause a lot of changes in your rankings, in my research I have found that the titles which starts from “how to”, “how is”, etc. are the most searched upon compared to normal sentences and its but obvious when people would search to find the procedure for something they are going to type “how to”. So research well for the titles you are going to put in and get good search engine rankings.

As far as Kontera earnings were concerned i saw little down trend which got covered by Google Adsense Effectively. At the end of the week combined results were positive. Google Adsense is high payer as far as Travel Niche is concerned for around 10k Impressions & Clicks i earned $268. Compared to last week traffic was around 4 to 6 Percent less on daily basis, inspite of less traffic Earnings were promising which is positive sign at this point of time. Main reason for less traffic was downfall in rankings for 2 major keywords, have made necessary changes in order to achieve rankings again let’s see what happens.

While I developed this website & launched in the month of Jan 2009, side by side i was developing few more websites related to various Travel places across the globe, one of them is Africa related website on which i have Implemented Kontera Yesterday & waiting to see the first week results, in coming days i will share my experience with regards to Traffic, Keywords & Income from Kontera. This website is very Informative & gives complete information about various aspects of Africa like How to reach, African History, Resources, Car rentals, African Culture, African Sports, Tours to various parts of africa, Entertainment in Africa etc etc. In all website has 87 pages of Rich content & user friendly navigation.

I would like invite all of you to come up with your queries & i would be more then glad to answer all of them, the best way i can, looking forward to support all of you to become successful online Entrepreneur like me & achieve your life goals.

Do you benefit from high levels of income generated through Google Adsense?

It is not uncommon to read informative articles or newsletters that state there are some people who earn as much as $10,000 in a month’s time by taking advantage of Adsense marketing. You may have even heard stories of individuals who have earned as much as $1 million in a year’s time, with the earning power that Google advertisements supplied them with.

Educate yourself with Google Adsense Income and learn how you too can earn an income of six-figures.

When site owners obtain ads from Google adsense, there is no time required for selling the product. Google adsense simply gives you a code that will generate the display of a targeted advertisement to appear on your site. The idea is to get visitors that come to your site to click on these advertisements, and in turn you are able to earn a commission. This is a popular way to generate larger amounts of income, but there site owners that do not maximize benefits in using Adsense to the fullest potential.

6 effective ways to increase levels of revenue using Google Adsense

Pick the right spot – Generally the middle of a website is saved for informative content on a site. Therefore, it is best to place your block for Adsense at the very top portion of your site page. The idea is to format your site in such a way that the ads do not appear as advertisements, but instead look like additional links offering information for the services or products of your site.

Select a beneficial size – Many website owners have found that they can gain the most benefit from choosing the large rectangle (336×280) ad format. This is simply because the other choices, such as the Wide Skyscraper (160×600) and the Leaderboard (728×90), look exactly like advertisements, whereas the rectangle format does not, which means it receives the largest number of clicks.

Do away with borders – Website owners have found by simply making one small change in their Google ad appearance, it increases amounts of revenue they earn, and this is by removing the border. Borders totally take away from the effect that you are trying to create with the ads being additional content added to your site.

Font likeness – The content on your site should look the same as the font style and size of your block for Google adsense. This helps to give it the natural appearance and smooth flow of being another part of your site.

Color matching – Just as with the fonts, the colors used in the ads should also match the color schemes that you choose for your site.

Remove distractions – Cramming too many graphics or links into a website page can be very distracting, and many times it will result in the customer becoming frustrated and leaving your site to find one that is much more user-friendly. If it is not an essential part of your site, then do not include it.

Website owners often notice a dramatic difference with the click-thru ratio of the ads contained on their site, simply by keeping these 6 steps in mind.

In the world where opportunities are unlimited we see so many people around us trading the path of their choice rather than going under the scanner of taking up things which are offered to them, the same is the path of free lancers today, freelances have great career paths as they are not bounded by any company rules or individual rule. They work for what they like and so on and so forth. Sometimes it so happens through a mere mistake and that mistake takes you to bigger heights and one day finally you end up liking your job what you are doing. If you had your career path ever go awry then there is a fair chance of you taking and making right choices in life in selecting what really makes you happy to do.

Start focusing on the projects you really wish to by being an expert in the field as and when the time passes on you will see the difference that it will make to your career opportunities and insights in to the business. there may be things that you might be ignoring unknowingly that might have offered you a bigger chance of making your choices right. If you are in a field of writing, you may find yourself in demand for writing press release articles but what if you are not comfortable selling it at first place.

If you research online you will gain loads of knowledge of what exactly you need to be doing. Type in the subject matter in the text box and make google search, within seconds you had be displayed with information on the topics you are looking for through varied sites. Out of all, the major ones which will be useful to you are the ones with how-to tags articles. When you feel you would be writing on some real wired topics check out or pay a visit to a book store or library or online reading that will give you many examples on your writings, online you will find thousands of topics you were looking for relating to press releases, go through each of these topics and you will find out what you have been looking for all this while.

After moving through each of the articles and topics, you must have gained some niche for yourself to offer your clients something new and enchanting that will be helpful for you to make more money.

All the methods to learn something never go waste, you gain some knowledge, somehow or the other. The best way to increase your intensity and depth of one topic is to teach someone, if you teach someone else you are increasing your knowledge base about the topic. If you apply the same thing to your career you might well know the mystery behind the scenes, say for example you are looking to learn something about press release writing, then you start writing your ebook or e-article relating to the subject matter, whilst you are doing all this you will set a goal for yourself to write what you have decided and gradually you will start researching for the same, good researcher will find out things which a common person may not be able to, searching on the topics you are really looking for and finding the books at just one go is a big achievements sometimes we see people end up writing with topics that are not related to their project matter and everything looks so unorganized.

If you are having a niche of researching the topics and have a good ground base than you can well make use of your talent and put it in some productive purpose like someone’s education system and you will see you are gaining much more than what actually you give out that way you will gain mastery of it in the process.

If you are approaching this way of learning, it has its own advantages that are given below:

You have to understand the subject matter in detail unless you know what you want to research on you will never get to the depth of the subject. You have to adopt to the best practices in the field to find the latest news, research done, the results, etc and you never know you might come across the subject which you might know more than actually stated in your search book.

While you are researching on some particular topic you might come across a resource which will give you a detailed idea about the articles that you will write in future, nothing written or read goes waste that will be surely used sometime in future.

You have to have the evidence for the things you write because that would be your back up in future. When you are totally done with the document that gives you a detailed knowledge of the things you have researched over the topic.

You can even generate your own income by writing, use the evidence in this case that will assure your buyers of competent data that you are providing them. You can even if you want send them the clips of your findings, your research work or even distribute its copies that will generate more interests amongst your potential buyers. you can also make money by selling the article to magazine or simply give it to institutes for further research. Nothing other than this works, than you can simply post your article on the blogging site along with your portfolio so that interested parties will contact you.

The whole idea that most online business websites are trying to achieve, is for visitors to visit their site long enough to find the advantages offered, click on other links within the site to learn even further information, and ultimately purchase your products or services. As many of us are aware of, this is not always the case. All too often there are sites that end up having visitors who land on one of the pages of their site, only to leave so they can visit other sites. When this is the type of problem that you are experiencing, it can often be disastrous.

A ‘Bounce Rate’ is a percentage that is determined by the number of visits where visitors lands on a website, then end up leaving the site because they were not able to find information that caught their attention that made them want to stay and browse the site further. Avinash Kaushik, Google’s Analytics Evangelist describes this action as, rather than visitors visiting the site, viewing needed information, then conquering the goals they were looking to find, visitors instead come to a website, quickly see it holds nothing for them, and they leave.

It can be extremely beneficial for your company if you take the time to learn what the Bounce Rate is of your online business. The specific type of site that you have, and the type of web page that has been created at two factors that will ultimately determine the Bounce Rate. If the Bounce Rate on your site reaches numbers as high as 50 percent or even higher, then this is certainly cause to become concerned. Percentages that are this high tell you that a much larger number of visitors are leaving your site, than the amount of prospective customers that are staying.

The web analytical package of your site is where Bounce Rate information and percentages can be found, and you have the ability to filter these numbers to show detailed information on specific sources, such as partner sites, specific pages of your site, Google organic searches, and online advertisements.

What Can The Bounce Rate Of Your Site Mean?
This percentage can often reveal techniques that have been used in marketing campaigns that are not showing to be effective. It can even show low quality content that simply does not contain information that sparks interest of targeted audiences.

What Can Be Done?
Testing other alternatives that include a broader scope of ideas, page headers that are catchy, informative and interesting content, and contextual links that are relevant, are all areas that you will want to pay close attention to.

After you have spent a lot time and effort in the planning that is involved to achieve a successful website, the last thing that you want, is visitors coming to your site, only to leave the site and wander over to one of your competitors.

To prevent this from happening, it can be very helpful to review the following reasons why many websites have lost revenue that could have otherwise been earned, if prospective customers had not chosen to instead buy from competitor sites. In doing so, it gives you the chance to take the necessary measures needed to see that these problems do not ultimately interfere with your success.

Lack in having a professional design – If the design of your site is second rate and not created in a professional manner, man times individuals will move on to other sites that are presented in a much more appealing design.

No clarity – If the information on your site is not provided in a clear and informative manner, many times visitors will not be able to find the answers to their questions very easily and they will move on. Most are looking for precise information and want precise answers.

Navigation that is poor – Often times a visitor on your site will become easily frustrated if the navigation on your page is inconsistent and confusing to navigate around in.

Content that is outdated – One of the biggest disappointments visitors notice very quickly, is when not much time or attention has been spent on a website to ensure that it contains content that is current and up-to-date.

Pages loading too slowly – There are some individuals that do not like spending a lot of time waiting for a site to load. In fact, if more than three seconds is needed, there are some that will give up and move on and find faster loading sites.

Advertising – Sites that rely on money earned from advertisements through Google AdSense are of course expected to have various ads placed on their site. However, for online businesses that rely on revenue earned from specific products or services, it is important that advertisements are in fact maximizing the amount of leads and revenue, or if they are driving visitors away.

Sites that bring on the Zzzz – If your site contains nothing but boring information that loses the interest of your visitors, you can pretty much bet that they are not going to stick around for long. Successful sites need to contain as much interesting and exciting content as possible.

External site links that lead visitors away – Links are placed on a site for a reason, and that is to take people to a variety of different places on the web, including those that sell a variety of different products and services. If you place a ton of external links on your website, then it is natural to expect at least some of your visitors to follow these links. It is suggested to place links on your business websites that offer information that is relevant, but it is also important to find balance in those you select.

If you’re anything like me, you probably check your blog’s stats regularly. I often spend half an hour every day reviewing daily stats for the numerous blogs I write for. I’m not normally interested in the pageviews and referral sources only. What I’m really intrigued with is the keywords that users have used to arrived at my blog.

Most analytics packages like Google Analytics, Mint and pMetrics track search engine referrals, and could tell you the top keywords that people use when they get to your blog. For example, for one particular science blog I contribute to, people referred by Google seem to be searching for the H1N1 virus, using various keywords like Swine Flu and the like. This would prompt me to write more about the topic, knowing it’s something that people like reading about. Of course, this is a popular topic today, and I’d be riding the trend if I wrote about H1N1.

However, even better for me is finding novel and unique keywords that people use on their searches. For example, I would never know how someone landed on my tech blog using keywords related to nudity and adult websites. Or perhaps it’s because I wrote about the adult website industry some time back, in the context of blogs and social networking. It’s not what I expected, but it’s intriguing. It made me realize how relevant that site could be in different niches.

Reading up on your referral stats could help you better focus the content on your site. If you find that your readers land on your blog or any specific posts within using the keywords that you are actually optimizing for, then congratulations! But you shouldn’t stop there. If you see some interesting keywords popping up, then you can also optimize for these keywords. Your site has already popped up as a relevant match. You can now follow through with this relevancy.

What best way to focus on these keywords than to use these to jumpstart new categories or topics. For instance, in my mention of referrals from adult-related searches, I could have probably written more about the dynamics between social networks and the adult industry. That would definitely be keyword rich, and would push up my site further in the search engine results. Then again, it was my choice not to, because I thought it would be too controversial. But my point remains. If you find an interesting and intriguing referral, try to do a follow-up. It might be a good way to jumpstart new topics that are interesting to new, prospective readers.

The Internet is a vast world of opportunities that seem to have no end. Beginning a journey into building a solid online business should involve the careful consideration of a specific niche to focus your energies on and it will play a large part into the amount of success you ultimately benefit from. High impact ideas will ensure that your success is continuous and not something that will simply disappear over a matter of time.

To efficiently be able to do this, you need to know the proper high impact ideas that will offer you the most advantage. Although moneymakers are beneficial for earning cash quickly, there are no advantages for building a solid business for future leverage. Assets allow your company to grow consistently in line with the amount of time, effort, and resources that you choose to invest.

Business Assets Are By Far More Beneficial

While earning cash fast is something all of us enjoy, the big picture of long-term success can only be obtained by incorporating sound business assets into the planning process. As more time and effort is put into this strategy, the positive results will begin to form and they will last.

Below are a few tips that you should consider before jumping in on opportunities on the Internet. It is important to make sure they will provide leverage your business can benefit from now and in the future. Choosing assets over fast moneymakers will give you the power to make solid decisions.

Building Assets AND Money

Fad niches that only provide a life span that is limited should be avoided – It is much more beneficial to build your strategies around a solid niche that offers potential for the future as well as the present. Diets, trendy fads, celebrities, etc. are niches that generally have a limited life span.

Adsense and Affiliate sites that are not of much value should be avoided – These types of sites are being eliminated by Google so it would be much more beneficial to focus on a branded affiliate. Incentives will make users want to visit your site.

Do not focus on Black Hat SEO – You may notice benefits for a short time with this technique, but you will be much better off in devoting your time and energy to secure long-term benefits with SEO practices that are ethical.

Building leads is as important as driving traffic – Take advantage of such as Twitter, RSS feeds, and email that can be effective for building profitable relationships with those that could very easily turn into satisfied customers.

You should not expect long term income from PPC affiliate marketing – Sure, there are some affiliates making a ton with this technique, but when it comes to long term benefits they will not have the advantage that building assets can provide.

Don’t rely on others, build your own personal brand – Relying on paychecks that come from others can often lead to an empty pocket. Building your own personal brand by using effective techniques in areas such as blogs is one way to build long-term profitable relationships and networking that is effective.

Don’t use someone else’s site to host your content – Using networks such as Ebay, Blogger, and even Wordpress may initially seem like you have hit the jackpot but it will actually limit the potential of your business tremendously. Instead, take full control by making your products and services popular on your own website.

Building assets profitably boils down to branding and it gives you the ability to have better control of the effort you have deposited so much valuable time into.

How do Google ads become noticed? How is Google alerted when someone clicks on one of my ads?

There are a number of things that help our system to better determine which ads will need to be placed on your site. The content on your site, keyword frequency, linguistics, size in font used, and the structure used for links. As ads on your site have been clicked on, they are recorded in Google’s system through a signal they receive. In turn, the information on your account is updated and you are able to view information such as earnings that have been made.

What do CPC, CPM and CTR mean?

Advertisers pay as users click on their ads and are based on Google Adwords price system that results in the CPC or the price that is paid. CPM is the specified price set for ‘cost of 1000 impressions’. Each time their ad appears, the advertiser then pays the specified amount. CTR simply refers to the amount of clicks that is then divided by the amount of link impressions. Every time A CPM ad is sent to a publisher’s page, revenue is earned.

You will notice in our ad auction that the ad that shows promise of earning higher revenue will be displayed for our clients, as CPC or pay-per-click ads compete regularly against CPM ads.

How is it determined whether to place a CPC or CPM ad on a site?

As both CPC and CPM ads compete for placement on your website, our goal is to select the one that generates the highest amount in earned revenue. The manner of targeting which ads to place, it is a factor that can benefit you greatly. Higher competition among the ads results in even larger amounts of potential revenue.

How is a code implemented?

After account approval, the start guide provides helpful information for the steps involve in generating an AdSense code, and will have ads displayed on your site in no time at all. You will easily be able to find the answers to your questions that you may have by simply using the Help Center.

Can ad codes be pasted on several websites?

Certainly! To find out if the source code of the website follows the policies of our program, visit http://www.google.com/adsense/policies. No viewing of the site is necessary before you can past the code onto your site.

How can I view a separate report for each of the ad codes that I have placed on various sites?

Each site will need a URL channel created to view the reports. Without having to modify the code at all, ad performances are tracked almost instantaneously.

Can problems be solved without having to contact AdSense Support?

Because of problems that can arise such as payments, login issues, and others, we have created troubleshooting answers that provide step-by-step instructions. This gives you the advantage of being able to solve many problems in a short amount of time and very easily.

Can the color of the AdSense ads be changed?

There are several different built-in color choices and you can even create as many as 100 colors you have created yourself. The Help Center provides instructions for this task.

Do some ad formats perform better than others? Is there a certain number of ad units that can be displayed on pages?

Wider formats generally work much better than the taller choices and this is simply because it is much more reader friendly. Three standard ad units can be displayed, three link units, and two search boxes.

Can imagine only ads be implemented? Can this type of ad earn more money?

There is an option that allows you to select image only ads while the generation of the ad layout code is being performed. However, it is suggested to use ads that contain both images and text for the potential of maximum revenue earning. It gives us the ability to create a better experience for the visitors coming to your site, which in turn can increase revenue for AdSense.

Can certain ads that appear be filtered out?

The Competitive Ad Filter allows the prevention of ads appearing on up to 200 sites, and you will find more information on the online resource guide.

What is an invalid click and how can Google tell the difference?

Invalid clicks are impressions that are done through a means that is prohibited, which will artificially raise the amount of clicks on publisher’s accounts. Google uses technology that can analyze clicks that helps determine if they have been used to generate more clicks for an advertiser.

What does smart pricing? Am I smart priced?

Smart pricing is simply a way that makes sure both the advertiser and the publisher will be able to obtain maximum benefit for ads that are placed on Google’s network.
