As we all know that Google in terms of monopoly is the highest market leader of today. Google has always consistently focused on what the search marketers are looking for. Google Monopoly is not quite preferable for search marketers as Google has set standards, privacy policies, rules etc in such a way that either a search marketer has to obey them or has to knock himself out. Google has managed and balanced itself so consistently with the other major players including yahoo, AOL, Ask etc that it has become difficult for the search marketer to knock out Google-centric mindsets of today. As a result Google Monopoly is proving bad for the marketers.
Common problems faced by the search marketers due to the Google Monopoly are described below:
Power of Monopolies:
Google has set standards for PPC advertising’s which it can raise up to any level if the search engines are providing with 90% +share of the market. In such case even the illegal or fraud clicks made by search marketers have to pay the amount asked by it or else they have to shut it down as they have no choice. So in such case Google can dictate pricing as its advantage of its monopolies. This shows the power of Google Monopolies.
Monopolies Control:
You have to get along with the rules and regulations of the monopolies even if you don’t like it. Google’s stance on data collection, paid links, cloaking etc even if you dislike such rules you have no option but to except them as there is only one big fish in the town and to get hold of it you have to follow it. This shows how monopolies have control over the search marketers.
Google can penalize you:
If you don’t follow Google’s rules, regulations and guidelines Google by all means can penalize your site or can set you out of the index. On doing so your page rank will again become ZERO. It can exercise it power on any large or small site with the help of Google’s web spam team.
Monopolies can be demanding:
In order to be listed in the Google search engine in your coming future you need to provide your personal data or the data regarding your site to Google. To represent your sites information you can add Site meter, Sitemaps or Webmaster Tools. It will be next to impossible to fight Google if it comes to know about what is happening around the web more than anyone else.
Monopolies are subjectively less to Market Strategies:
Google have become symbols of consumer aggression. Google is managing itself on staying ahead on user demands but due to its monopolies it is becoming quite difficult for it to keep on managing for the same. As a result its job has become progressively low. Once the market position becomes secure it becomes cause of frustration and disappointment for the consumers.
Competition is difficult:
The competition against the Google monopolies is incredibly difficult and to establish a search engine is even more difficult. So in this case Google again become a supreme power for the search marketers to defeat it.
Google has become a corporate:
It’s been noticed by the bloggers, SEO’s and the journalists that Google has now changed over to become a corporate. The privacy policy, search history etc is been included in a site not because it’s good but because Google thinks it right for their business which have made it corporate.
After all the above point a big question arises that can we ever get hold of Google’s advancing hold over the web? This question remains unanswered since the times Google have established itself to such a power with its vast network and monopolies due to which now its not how can we get hold of Google, the thing is how can we handle the increasing competition against Google?
